Leave it on for a soft, steady glow beside the bed or above a shelf. Or switch to auto and it lights up as you walk past, then turns itself off once the room settles.

The light falls warm and low-glare, closer to candlelight than to a ceiling fixture. The frosted shade casts it downward instead of into your eyes.
